Join Hudson Hall for a very special Community Day on Sunday, May 21, with workshops and performances by Bindlestiff Family Cirkus.
Since 1995 the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus has traveled the world, bringing a contemporary twist to the grand traditions of American Circus. For one day, they bring it all to you.
Step right up to see the wonders of the newly restored performance hall, come clown around with a free circus skills workshop for kids, then prepare to be thrilled by the magic of the big top with a free performance by Hudson’s own Bindlestiff Family Cirkus.

Explore the Hall
Starting at noon
Stop in at any time between noon and 5pm to explore the newly-restored workshop spaces, Common Council room, and historic performance hall at your own leisure.
Run Away with the Cirkus
An interactive, drop-in circus experience for families and youth ages 4 and up
1:30 – 3:00pm
Fancy trying your hand at feather balancing, scarf juggling, diabolo spinning, and stilt walking? Come jump into the ring and explore the art of the circus with the help of Bindlestiff’s Cirkus After School junior counselors. These teens have great skills and love sharing what they know.
Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Performance
3:30 – 4:30pm
Bindlestiff’s dynamic cast delivers dazzling skill and hair-raising thrills! You’ll see Jan Damm balance high atop a stack of boards and buckets, perched perilously on a rolling cylinder…in a handstand! Matt Greenfield and Susan Voyticky’s lyrical acrobatic adagio Keith Nelson embodying vaudevillian dexterity with eight chaotically spinning bowls The Ringmistress’ daring target bullwhip cracking Greenfield’s awe-inspiring aerial straps act Ariele Ebacher’s ethereal grace on the tight wire All accompanied by live, original music… close-up wonder for all ages.
